From the virtual travel assistant to the app to find flights at a discounted price: six apps to have on your smartphone before leaving for the summer holidays 2019.
According to a survey, 32 million peoples will soon pack their bags to enjoy their summer holidays. Of these, 23% will aim right abroad. But whether you stay in your border or go beyond the border, the smartphone will also be joining the vacationers.
Cross and delight of every journey, it will keep us busy and distracted, often pushing us to look at reality through its lenses to immortalize it (even before we live it). But it will also prove useful, thanks to a series of apps created to make life easier for us on the move.
Here are 6 of which (maybe) you didn’t think of …
App in the air
A personal assistant on the road is always convenient. App in the air collects boarding passes, flight info and even our loyalty programs in one place. The gate and delays do not escape either, communicating through a series of notifications. But the maximum gives it when it allows us to measure hand luggage with augmented reality, to see if it is compatible with the standards set by the airline with which we will fly. So, to avoid check-in problems …
Packpoint
Where do we go? How long? These two parameters are enough at Packpoint to create a customized list of what we will need to pack; based on the weather that awaits us at the destination. If we have access to a laundry service, just tick the box and we will take into account the number of clothes to take, foreseeing that we can wear them several times.

Omio
It’s the app that has taken the place of GoEuro: just enter the place of departure, destination and date to discover all the travel solutions available offered by over 800 transport companies, by train, plane or bus, with relative timetables, prices and travel times. The reservation is made directly from the app, without being redirected to third party sites and with the possibility of including the various loyalty cards.
Roadtrippers
“The road is life”, wrote Jack Kerouac. This app took him at his word: not only does it help us plan the driving route, but it also helps us book hotels along the way and find interesting and unusual places to visit while you go, from restaurants to the must-see places we can also add to bookmarks.
AirHelp
It does not happen, but if it happens that our flight departs with a substantial delay, Airhelp will help us make a claim and get a refund. But the lawyer in this case is an artificial intelligence named Herman: a software capable of analyzing and evaluating the suitability of the complaint, and, if necessary, determining the right path for the legal action, in order to manage the minimum requests.
Hopper
If you like booking flights in advance, Hopper is your app. It keeps track of prices and provides periodic updates on the opportunity to buy or wait, also launching in forecasts on the dates on which the price could increase or decrease. Because there is nothing more mobile than the low-cost flight market.
