It is quite entertaining to attend the “smartparty”, i.e. to the boom by putting the smart everything, and home represents a very fertile ground to till. Vacuums and remote sensors, cameras and refrigerators among many other things are smart bulbs. An example of this are the Sengled, seeking to be an element for creating a particular atmosphere with a modern twist in decor.
How is this accomplished? With wireless network and with integrated speakers. The idea is that the bulbs put something else on his side when creating the desired atmosphere, in this case the audio. The Sengled Press and Press Flex, either individually or in sets of several of them, controlling them light up and play music with the smartphone and its own app.
Not suitable for environments vintage silent
Like other smart, in the case of Sengled Press and Press Flex bulbs also we have us forget the typical bulb-shaped (pear-shaped or tube). Many party, but little chance
The overall experience is good: the aim of these bulbs seems to be the decoration and, above all, the environment, and the fact is that the room is filled embroilment with the audio output (both one and if we combine several), albeit wide and open. Lighting is rather tenuous, with an average intensity (not low but less potent than halogens 800 lumens) and smaller angle than others by having the coating of the metal body.
The audio will be more or less concentrated depending on how separate we install the sockets. In our tests we managed to reach 118 decibels, which in practice resulted in a sound with enough volume and intensity. As we have seen, the sound comes from the side of the light so that if we are under the bulb will be the point of direct perception, and loss of quality that is usually when maximum volumes are reached was minimal.
One of the pluses is that it has several options for music source, such as Spotify, Deezer or music device (also our voice recordings, with the megaphone). But the weakest point is the app, too terse and sometimes little obedient. While this is vital that we are in the scope of the wifi (if we turn away some have failures synchronization with the music service although we see that the mobile is connected), to set the sleep in the Press Fex turns off soon though let ‘s do it slowly, regardless of the time you configure.
In this case, the sound itself endures every minute you configure (a minimum of 6 minutes).
