The HP EliteBook x360, the newest member of the family of ultraportable HP, has just been presented with a convertible format that also stands out for its strength and durability, but also to integrate hardware components last batch offers a very attractive option to protect our working sessions of the potential onlookers.
This is HP Sure View, a technology that reduces the viewing angles of the screen and makes facing her only being able to see the screen clearly. It is joined by other proposals in the field of security: the webcam with infrared and the fingerprint sensor come to protect our data.
An ultra-thin convertible
The leaders of the company emphasize that the HP EliteBook x360 is “the world’s thinnest business convertible”; something that we are not sure that any company should highlight this type of products. The problem is that thinness limits the battery life, one of the variables most valued by users. It has a thickness of 14.9 mm and a weight of 1.29 kg.
Yet the construction team is remarkable: his body unibody is made with an aluminum frame and with some polished and cut contaminant elements to those bezels and lines that characterize a design certainly striking and the hinge remarkable for situating the team in all types of formats.
At the moment we do not have data on the capacity of the battery, but the manufacturer assures that it offers up to 16 hours and a half of autonomy and has a fast charging system that charges 50% in just 30 minutes. The first data seems, we fear, too ambitious, but it will be interesting to check the autonomy of this team.
HP EliteBook X360, armed to the teeth
The ultra – thin convertible HP is business – oriented, and this approach highlights the commitment by Intel Core i5 and i7 vPro seventh generation (Kaby Lake), plus SSDs and up to 16 GB of memory DDR4.

The team has a 13.3-inch screen that even option 4K (3840 x 2160), although this version of the equipment will appear later. WiFi connectivity is assured thanks to the support 802.11ac and also have a USB-C port Thunderbolt 3 interface. We also have two USB 3.0 ports, MicroSD reader, full HDMI port and headphone jack.
HP also offers its HP Elite Thunderbolt Dock to connect up to 2 4K monitors, plus additional USB, Ethernet, or VGA ports, among others. The touch screen is also compatible with the HP Active Pen, a pen with which to easily take notes in tablet mode.
All these options are striking, but one of the distinguishing features is as we said HP Sure View, the feature (available in 1040 and EliteBook EliteBook 840) makes from certain angles the screen when the user activates that option darkens. This development joins biometric authentication via Windows Hello that can be done with both your IR webcam and your fingerprint reader.
HP EliteBook x360, price and availability
The new HP EliteBook x360 will be available from February, and will do so with a price of 1499 dollars.
