There is an old proverb that says, “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,” and so it is with smartphones on the catwalk. The most beautiful smartphones aren’t necessarily those that are good to look at with the best cases that are all colourful and flashy, but rather beauty is what lies within. So then, with the year 2016 almost drawing to a close, just a few months to go, what are the most beautiful smartphones of the year? It probably depends on what the audience is saying. And who’s the audience? That would be you, the consumers! Let’s see what you have to say.
5. Google Nexus 6P
Although the Google Android platform has been in constant battle with the Apple iOS for some years now, consumers throughout the UK do tend to rank iPhones a bit higher in the chart. Even so, everything Google does, Google does better and this smartphone, the Nexus 6P has all the great features that Google is famed for with very few of those questionable features that turned consumers back to Apple. Starting at just about £449 inclusive of VAT, this is a flagship phone at a price that you wouldn’t consider a flagship price. All the great features at an affordable price makes this one beautiful phone in the eyes of the beholder.
4. HTC 10
What consumers seem to like most about the HTC 10 is all the hardware upgrades from previous versions. Upgrades that make this phone beautiful are the screen, better audio and a sharper image due to the updates in the camera. Listing at £569 inclusive of VAT, it is possible to pay a bit less if you search Amazon for daily deals and voucher codes. Altogether a respectable smartphone at a respectable price.
3. iPhone 6S Plus
Perhaps the best selling phone in the world, some consumers find that this iPhone is a bit pricey considering that the iPhone 7 is released with plenty of upgrades. Being so new on the market, the iPhone 7 hasn’t quite made it to the top 5, but is gaining quickly on the 6S which is available for £619 including VAT and really, only a few minor glitches were fixed when designing the 7 so if you aren’t looking for all those upgrades on the camera, this is one mighty appealing smartphone. With 32 GB you can take plenty of photos and videos show crisp and clear with very, very little lag. 2. iPhone 6S
So then, if the iPhone 6S Plus is an upgrade from the 6S, why does this smartphone rank higher on the list than the 6S Plus? It could be cost. Remember, this list is based on consumer reports and at a starting price of £539, it sure beats the 6S Plus to the tune of about £80. It’s beautiful what you can do with those £80 and so UK consumers rank this the more beautiful of the two.
1. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Pricewise, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is pound for pound on the iPhone 6S Plus so why is it ranked higher with consumers throughout the UK? About the only negative that consumers have to say on this particular flagship smartphone from Samsung is that the battery is not removable. Even so, the phone reportedly lasts a very long time and since it can outlast the battery, this is not an issue. With features many describe as being more favourable than the iPhones to date, it will be interesting to note just how well the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge fares against the next round of consumer reviews when the iPhone 7 is in the mix.
So there you have the top 5 most beautiful smartphones on the catwalk for 2016 to date as ranked by consumers throughout the UK. Bear in mind that just like any other fashion show, you will see beauty based on what you are looking for. When the majority rules however, these are the current rankings until the next round. It will be interesting to see where the iPhone 7 places then. Until that time, these are the most beautiful smartphones on the catwalk as ranked by you, the consumers.
